The Emerging Cricketer of the Year 2022 Award nominations were released by the International Cricket Council, and one Team Indian cricketer was among them. Arshdeep Singh, a left-arm pacer has been a revelation for Team India this year despite making his debut only in July this year.
The young pacer has been one of the top formers for the country this year and has given some match-winning performances. He has made himself a part of the Team India setup in T20Is and ODIs for sure with his consistent performances.
Among the other nominees for the prestigious award are South African pacer Marco Jansen, New Zealand batter Finn Allen, and Afghan Ibrahim Zadran. Voting for the award will begin in January, said the ICC in a release.
Less than six months after making his international debut, Arshdeep reached the shortlist. The left-hanced pacer scalped 33 wickets at an 18.12 average in 21 T20Is. He picked up wickets at a crucial time and that made his contribution more vital to Men in Blue.
