From Kohli to Tendulkar: Fastest batters to 10000 runs in ODIs

Ponting took 266 innings to score 10000 runs in the ODIs. He got to the mark against South Africa in March 2007. He is still regarded as one of the finest batters the country has ever produced after Don Bradman.

3) Sourav Ganguly

One of the greatest captains and a southpaw batsman from the Indian cricket team, Sourav Ganguly, is comfortably placed at number three on the list. Ganguly should be credited for the complete makeover of Indian cricket in every way.

He is third on this list and he took 263 innings to complete 10k runs. He reached the landmark against Sri Lanka in Dambulla in August 2005.

2) Sachin Tendulkar

The God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, has to surely be on this list as he was the first man to cross a 10,000-run mark in the ODIs. The living legend reached the 10000 run mark in 259 innings, crossing it against Australia in 2001.

He achieved the historic number after playing for 11 years. Sachin witnessed a lot of ups and downs in his career but till now no other cricketer has been able to reach the popularity and love he received from fans.

1) Virat Kohli

Indian cricket is known to produce some of the finest batters in cricket over a period of time. Virat Kohli is one of the finest examples of it. Kohli holds the record for being the fastest to reach the milestone of 10,000 ODI runs.

Kohli achieved this amazing feat in 2018 when he surpassed his idol Tendulkar to reach the milestone. He did it in his 205th innings against West Indies in Vishakhapatnam.
