IPL 2023: Three players who are making a comeback this year

The TATA IPL 2023 is all set to take place in the window of April-May and things will be more exciting this year as we will witness some new faces on the ground. These new faces are from the domestic grounds of Indian cricket or some international players who did a brilliant job in the past year.

IPL 2023 auctions have already taken place and all the franchises have bought their desired players and filled the empty spots in the team. And all the top bookmakers in India are on the brink of coming up with some great odds for the cricketing extravaganza.

There are few players who will be making a comeback to the Indian Premier League after a break because of some personal reasons.

3 players to make a comeback this year

Here is a list of the top three players who are making a comeback to the tournament and will be under the spotlight.

1) Ben Stokes

England’s T20 captain made headlines when he led his team to win the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022 after defeating Pakistan in the final game. Ben Stokes was also in the headlines when he took over the captaincy of England and completely changed English cricket in the 2022 season.

Stokes made his debut for IPL in 2018 with Rajasthan Royals and had a brilliant 3 years run. However, the player chooses to step aside from the tournament in 2022 to manage the international workload. This year, Ben Stokes has chosen to be part of the tournament and will be seen hand-in-hand with MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings.

2) Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer has been out of action since 2021 when he faced a career-ending injury. The English pacer has been the most ferocious pacer and has shocked every cricket fan with his performance. He was away from IPL too because of the same injury but as the new year started, Jofra is new again with his comeback to international cricket.

He will be also joining the Mumbai Indians camp in IPL 2023 and will be making a deadly partnership with Jasprit Bumrah.

3) Sam Curran

During the IPL 2022 season, BCCI and ECB had some major differences and the result was the end of Sam Curran’s presence with IPL and Chennai Super Kings. Sam Curran was injured before IPL 2022 but the medical team released him to play for the Indian Premier League.

However, the ECB stopped their players from being part of the tournament and took extra precautions for players’ health. However, Sam is back in action and has done a brilliant job as an all-rounder. Sam has become the most costliest player of all time as Punjab Kings bought him for 18.50 Crore.
