The mini-auction for the IPL 2023 is over and all the franchises have fulfilled the required spots in the team. The highlight during the auction was the foreign players who recently made headlines during the ICC T20 World Cup.
Harry Brook, Cameroon reen, Sam Curran, and Nicholas Pooran turned out to be the costliest players. And the top bookmakers in India will have their odds set on them performing outstandingly well in this year's Indian Premier League.
One franchise that was in the spotlight during the auction was the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Sunrisers made headlines when they released a long list of players before the auction and were ready with their shopping during the auction.
Top 3 players to watch for in Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad was in the process of reviving the whole team because they have not made a huge impact in the tournament in the past few seasons. This year, things are expected to change and it will be because of these three players.
1) Harry Brook
The costliest player of Sunrisers Hyderabad tops the list because of his sudden rise in international cricket for England. Harry Brook was one of the co-conspirators for England’s T20 world cup win in 2022. He made his debut for the English squad in 2022 and in 20 T20 matches, Harry has scored 372 runs at an average of 26.57 and a strike rate of 137.77.
It is because of his strong credentials, Hyderabad bought him for a price of 13.25 Crore and the player will be a huge boost to the middle order of the franchise. Brook is making his debut for IPL in 2023 and the first season can be a game-changer for the English player.
2) Washington Sundar
Washington Sundar will be again in the spotlight during the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. He is one of the most promising youngsters from the domestic ground of Indian cricket. Sundar became part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022 but the season was not as fruitful for the player as it was expected.
However, the player made a remarkable impact in ODI cricket. He has been part of 11 ODIs in 2022 and has picked up 13 wickets while maintaining an economy of 4.40. Sundar has also played the role of a finisher in the team and the same will be expected in IPL 2023 from him.
3) Umran Malik
Umran Malik made headlines with his speed in IPL 2022 and because of his consistent performance, he was called for the senior team. However, the start was not good for the speedster, and was dropped from the team because of his higher economy. Malik took his own time and made a comeback to the team against Sri Lanka in January 2023.
He has played two fixtures and has been making headlines again with his disciplined bowling with ferocious speed. Sunrisers will be giving him opportunities as a primary pacer in the team and since he has got international experience, things will work out for India’s Speedmaster.
