IPL 2023: Top three contenders for the Indian Premier League Trophy

There is excitement in the air as the new season of the Indian Premier League is about to go on the floors. To make it more exciting and thrilling, the BCCI and the IPL committee introduced two more teams in the tournament and the IPL became a ten-team affair.

These ten teams will come together again in March 2023 to give us another thrilling experience. Be rest assured that top bookmakers in India will come out with some stunning odds before the tournament.

During the IPL auction in December, franchises bought new faces in their squad and tried correcting their weaknesses.

In this article, we have listed down the top three contenders for the IPL trophy.

1) Gujarat Titans

The champions of IPL 2022 are at the top of the list because of the quality of players they have in their squad. Shubman Gill is currently in his best form and has been scoring runs in all game formats. After buying Kane Williamson, the Titans have solved the problem of their opening lineup.

The purchase of Kane Williamson was a bargain for Gujarat and he will be used at the right spot in the team. Skipper Hardik Pandya has also shown positive form in international cricket since his return. They also have David Miller and Rashid Khan to handle the pressure in the middle and the lower middle order. Their bowling also looks strong with Mohammad Shami as their primary pace attacker.

2) Mumbai Indians

The reason why Mumbai Indians are part of the list even after going through a nightmare in the last year’s IPL tournament is because of the presence of the duo Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer.

Two of the best pace bowlers in the world will be together to break any kind of opposition before it gets too late. In the batting front, Ishan Kishan and Indian skipper Rohit Sharma have played some match-winning knocks in international cricket and they both are expected to do well in IPL 2023.

3) Rajasthan Royals

The runner-up from the last season of IPL, Rajasthan Royals, is still one of the strongest teams in the tournament. They have a perfect mix of players who can handle the pressure of scoring runs and picking up wickets with time.

The deadly combination of R Ashwin and Chahal will show its magic again. It has also been observed that the batters from the Royals have good depth with big names like Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal, and Shimron Hetmyer.
