Delhi Capitals had a disappointing season in the Indian Premier League in 2022. They finished fifth in the point table with seven wins and seven losses. Skipper Rishabh Pant was not at all in the right frame of mind and since then he is witnessing a dip in his performance in all the formats of the game.
Delhi also witnessed a covid outbreak in their camp and some players went through injuries during the tournament.
Few players have lived up to the expectations but a lot of them have failed to fulfill them. There are some aspects that Delhi Capitals lack but with the help of the upcoming IPL auctions, Delhi can revive its performance by targeting the below-mentioned three players.
Here are those players they can target this IPL 2023 Auction:
You can find the best betting bookies here.
1) Mayank Markande
Mayank Markende made his debut for IPL in 2018 with Mumbai Indians and immediately made an impact. He played the 2020-21 season with Rajasthan Royals but his performance was mediocre.
However, considering his performance in the domestic circuit, Markande was bought by Mumbai Indians again in 2022 auctions but was not used much. This year again he has made a huge impact in the domestic games and Delhi Capitals can use him in their spin section. Markande will be a huge push to their bowling squad during the middle overs.
2) Wriddhiman Saha
KS Bharat and Tim Seifert are released by Delhi Capitals and they need a backup for Rishabh Pant as a wicketkeeper-batsman. Wriddhiman Saha played for Gujarat Titans in 2022 but he was a late addition.
Last season, he scored 317 runs for the Titans in 11 games, averaging 31.70, and had a strike rate of 120. The 37-year-old is still one of the best wicket-keepers in the nation and can contribute with his experience in the Indian Premier League.
3) Sam Curran
Delhi Capitals lost Shardul Thakur to Kolkata Knight Riders and now they will be in search of an international player who can do the job of an allrounder. Sam Curran was one of the stars of Chennai Super Kings in 2021 but missed out on the 2022 season because of an injury.
However, the English pacer is completely fit and was the anchor for England’s victory in the T20 World Cup. A bidding war is expected to take place for him but Delhi Capitals should be part of that bidding war. They need a pacer who can also finish the game by batting at the lower order.
