The Caribbean Premier League has entered its second and in match number 10, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots will host Barbados Royals at Werner Park on Sunday. This will be the first encounter between the two teams and we expect an entertaining match.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots are currently at the third spot but out of three fixtures, two of them have ended up with no results and one was a loss.
Barbados Royals are at the bottom of the point table and they have been part of two matches out of which one was abandoned and another one was a loss. The top bookmakers in India have CPL odds with them.
After two consecutive matches which ended up with no result, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots started their CPL 2023 campaign with a loss against Jamaica Tallawahs. It was a one-sided affair where the bowling unit came out to be a major weak point for the team.
Dominic Drakes, Oshane Thomas, and Sheldon Cottrell are the key members of the bowling unit and should bowl with more discipline in the upcoming fixture. Andre Fletcher, Evin Lewis, Ambati Rayudu, and Sherfane Rutherford are the key batters for the team and solid innings will be expected out of them.
Skipper Evin Lewis might not make any changes to the team for the upcoming fixture
Predicted Lineup: Evin Lewis (c), Andre Fletcher, Corbin Bosch, Sherfane Rutherford, Ambati Rayudu, Joshua Da Silva (wk), George Linde, Dominic Drakes, Sheldon Cottrell, Oshane Thomas, Blessing Muzarabani
Barbados Royals started their CPL 2023 campaign with a loss and then their second fixture was abandoned because of the rains. The team needs a major boost in confidence to make things better in the ongoing season.
In their first fixture, the bowlers displayed higher economy and that is the primary concern for the team management. Jason Holder and Qais Ahmed are the primary bowlers who should control the run rate of the opposition. In the batting unit, skipper Rovman Powell will have to lead with examples with Kyle Mayers in the opening unit.
The team management might make some changes to the bowling unit but they don’t have much stronger options.
Predicted Lineup: Kyle Mayers, Rahkeem Cornwall, Kevin Wickham, Rovman Powell (c), Donavon Ferreira (wk), Jason Holder, Justin Greaves, Joshua Bishop, Qais Ahmad, Nyeem Young, Obed McCoy
Both teams are evenly matched as they both carry their strength in batting and bowling is a major weakness for both sides. However, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have a good depth in their batting unit with some experienced players. We predict a win for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Saturday.
