In match number 12 of the ICC World Cup Qualifiers tournament, Scotland will be facing the United Arab Emirates at Bulawayo Athletic Club Sports Grounds on Friday. Scotland stunned everyone with a win over Ireland in their previous fixture whereas UAE had to witness a loss against their political rivals Oman in their previous match.
Scotland started their campaign on a positive note with a win over Oreland in the first match. This will be a huge boost to their morale and confidence for the rest of the tournament.
The United Arab Emirates witnessed another loss in the tournament and with that, they reached the bottom of the Group B point table. The cricket betting sites have World Cup qualifiers' odds with them.
It was a thrilling fixture between Scotland and Ireland and the former team witnessed a close win over the latter. Scotland won the toss and elected to bowl first and the decision worked in favour of the team as Brandon McMullen picked up 5 wickets in 7 overs at an economy of 4.86. Chris Sole, Mark Watt, and Christopher McBride also contributed with one wicket each. On the batting front, Scotland had a slow start but Christopher McBride’s half-century was a big contribution. However, it was Micheal Leask who changed the game for Scotland as he scored 91 in 61 balls at a strike rate of 149.18.
Scotland has a winning combination and they are not expected to make any changes in the playing XI.
Predicted Lineup: Tom Mackintosh, Chris Greaves, Richie Berrington, Matthew Cross, Chris Sole, Mark Watt, Safyaan Sharif, George Munsey, Christopher McBride, Brandon McMullen, Michael Leask
The struggles of UAE are not coming to an end in the tournament as they have failed to score their first win for the second time. Batting first, UAE’s opening pair, Muhammad Waseem and Rohan Mustafa completely failed to give a solid start but it was Vriitya Arvind who handled the innings at number as he scored 49 of 84 balls. Aayan Afzal Khan played an important role to take the score at 227 for UAE. Bowlers turned out to be a weaker section for UAE as they failed to pick wickets and break partnerships. Except for Junaid Siddique and Rohan Mustafa, all the other bowlers failed to do their job.
UAE might do some changes in the middle order but there is no official announcement as of now.
Predicted Lineup: Muhammad Waseem (c), Rameez Shahzad, Ali Naseer, Aayan Afzal Khan, Rohan Mustafa, Vriitya Aravind (wk), Basil Hameed, Asif Khan, Karthik Meiyappan, Zahoor Khan, Muhammad Jawadullah
Scotland has a good rhythm, and their bowlers look powerful and disciplined. UAE is lacking on the batting front and after two consecutive losses, team morale also looks low. We predict a win for Scotland on Friday.
