We are thrilled to return to the magnificent Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur after a prolonged absence, where the Rajasthan Royals will take on the Lucknow Super Giants in the much-awaited Match No. 26, scheduled for Wednesday, April 19th.
The Royals arrive with soaring confidence after a scintillating 3-wicket victory over the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, the Super Giants are recovering from a hard-fought 2-wicket defeat to the Punjab Kings in Lucknow.
At present, the Rajasthan Royals are sitting at the top of the points table with an impressive record of four victories in five games, and a stunning net run rate of +1.354. On the other hand, LSG are hot on their heels in second place, having secured three wins in five games with a commendable net run rate of +0.761. The top bookmakers in India have fantastic IPL odds with them.
Rajasthan Royals successfully pursued a target of 178 runs in their last outing. The Royals lost both openers early in their innings, but Devdutt Padikkal and Sanju Samson steadied the ship.
However, it was Samson's vintage knock of 60 runs off just 32 balls, including three 4s and six 6s, that set the momentum swinging in their favor. He even became the second player after Chris Gayle to hit four consecutive sixes off Rashid Khan's bowling.
The Royals sealed the match in the last over thanks to a superb knock of 56 runs off 26 balls by Shimron Hetmyer.
Rajasthan Royals would love to go unchanged in this match, however, depending on the pitch, they can look to play a fast bowler like Jason Holder in place of Adam Zampa.
Predicted Lineup: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson(c & wk), Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel, R Ashwin, Trent Boult, Adam Zampa/Jason Holder, Sandeep Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal.
LSG could score a modest total of 159 runs in their previous match against Punjab Kings, where KL Rahul finally scored his first half-century of the season with 74 runs off 56 balls.
Despite their good bowling performance that took the match to the last over, Lucknow could not defend the score, and their big hitters, including Kyle Mayers, Marcus Stoinis, and Nicholas Pooran, failed to contribute.
In addition, Deepak Hooda, who comes in at No. 3 for Lucknow, has not contributed many runs, and the team will require him to step up his game.
Lucknow Super Giants would also like to not change their side from the last game. However, they can use impact players like Amit Mishra or Krishnappa Gowtham depending on the pitch conditions and toss.
Predicted Lineup: KL Rahul(c), Kyle Mayers, Deepak Hooda, Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Nicholas Pooran(wk), Ayush Badoni, Avesh Khan, Yudhvir Singh, Mark Wood, Ravi Bishnoi.
RR leads the points table with four wins in five games and a net run rate of +1.354, with only one loss so far.On the other hand, the Lucknow Super Giants will be eager to get back to their winning ways.
However, based on their overall performance, the Royals have been more consistent than the Giants, and we predict that they will emerge victorious in Match No. 26 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
