The second week of the Lanka Premier League will see some crucial fixtures and one of them will be held on Tuesday between Colombo Strikers and Jaffna Kings. The fixture is scheduled to take place at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele. The pitch is known to support the batters and cause major trouble for the pace bowlers.
Colombo Strikers are having major troubles this year as they are currently at the bottom of the point table with two losses and one win and a net run rate of -0.067.
Jaffna Kings are currently at the third spot and they have major inconsistency in the tournament with two wins and two losses. The cricket betting sites have LPL 2023 odds with them.
It is a shock to see the team which finished in the third position in the previous season of the Lanka Premier League, struggling at the bottom of the point table this year. Colombo Strikers are finding it difficult to complete the case as both games which they have lost, were while chasing the score. The bowlers need to pull up their socks if they want to see their team in a better position. Babar Azam, Nuwanidu Fernando, and Naseem Shah are the key players for the team.
The presence of Babar Azam in the batting unit will give the team a major push for the rest of the fixtures.
Predicted Lineup: Niroshan Dickwella, Babar Azam, Pathum Nissanka, Nuwaindo Fernando, Danajaya Lakshan, Chamika Karunaratne, Ramesh Mendis, Jeffrey Vandersay, Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Matheesha Pathirana
Jaffna Kings started their campaign on a positive note but eventually witnessed a loss in the 2nd fixture against Dambulla Aura. The loss in the second game did hurt their confidence but the team bounced back immediately in the third fixture against Galle Titans. However, their loss against B-Love Kandy will be a major disappointment. The inconsistency of the players is hurting the team and might be a huge risk for the team during the final days of the tournament.
Dunith Wellalage, Nandre Burger, and Maheesh Theekshana are the key players for Jaffna Kings.
Predicted Lineup: Dunith Wellalage, Nandre Burger, Maheesh Theekshana, Thisara Perera, Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, Nuwan Thusara, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Charith Asalanka, Priyamal Perera, David Miller, Towhid Hridoy
Both teams have met 7 times in the past in Lanka Premier League and Jaffna Kings are way ahead of Colombo Strikers with 5 wins. This time as well, Jaffna Kings is a well-balanced team as compared to the Strikers. We predict a win for Jaffna Kings on Tuesday.
