The new season of the Premier League has and on week 2, we will witness a clash between the east and the south coast. Bournemouth will be travelling to Anfield and will be hosted by Liverpool on Saturday.
The Reds are looking for a revival after a disappointing end to the last season. Their focus will be to win the Europa League this year and give a run for money to every top team in the Premier League.
Bournemouth will be looking forward to scoring their maiden win in the league this year as their first fixture ended up in a draw against West Ham. The top bookmakers in India have EPL odds with them.
Jurgen Klopp must be disappointed with the way things have started for his team in the Premier League season 2023-24. They met Chelsea in their first fixture at the Stamford Bridge and to much surprise, the home team stunned everyone with their performance.
Liverpool was dominated by Chelsea and they could only manage to have 35% of possession throughout the game. An early advantage by Luis Diaz in the 18th minute was a positive sign but soon the game was levelled in the 37th minute and post that both teams were unable to take the lead.
Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic are still recovering from hip and adductor injuries respectively and are not expected to be part of the upcoming match.
Predicted Lineup: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Jones, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Salah, Nunez, Diaz
Like Liverpool, Cherries also witnessed a straw against West Ham in their first fixture of the new season. The fixture was dominated by Bournemouth with a possession of 63% but an early advantage of the opposition was the major hit. Bournemouth showed a tough and aggressive attitude primarily in the second half and during the dying embers, the Cherries equalized the fixture by scoring in the 82nd minute.
Alex Scott, Marcus Tavernier, Antoine Semenyo, and Ryan Fredericks are all in the injury room and won’t be part of the starting XI on Saturday.
Predicted Lineup: Neto (GK), Senesi, Aarons, Zabarnyi, Kerkez, Rothwell, Christie, Billing, Brooks, Solanke & Anthony
Both teams will be in desperate need of a win because of their previous results. However, the fixture is scheduled to be played at the Anfield and the home ground of Liverpool is always an intimidating factor for the visiting team. We predict a win for Liverpool on Saturday.
