After an unsuccessful T20 series against West Indies, it is now time for team India to travel to Ireland and revive their quality of cricket in the shortest format of the game. Ireland and India will be engaged in a three-match T20 series and the first fixture is scheduled to take place on Friday.
Ireland have had a mixed bag of results in T20 cricket in recent years. However, they are known to stun some of the strongest teams in the T20 format.
Team India are coming up with some new faces to play against Ireland but the new T20 captain will be in the spotlight because of multiple reasons. The top bookmakers in India have amazing odds with them.
In terms of bilateral series, Ireland have had some good results against weaker teams but has struggled against the top teams. They have shocked England, India, and Pakistan in T20 internationals, but have lost heavily to these teams on other occasions. Paul Stirling, Andrew Balbirnie, and Kevin O'Brien will be responsible to give the team a good start. Joshua Little will be in the spotlight again to handle the pressure in the bowling department.
Ireland camp has no injuries and hence skipper Paul Stirling will have the availability of the best possible playing XI.
Predicted Lineup: Paul Stirling (Captain), Andrew Balbirnie, Ross Adair, Harry Tector, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Lorcan Tucker (WK), Mark Adair, Joshua Little, Barry McCarthy, Benjamin White.
Jasprit Bumrah will be in the spotlight as he is leading the team for the whole series and making a comeback to international cricket after recovering from a back injury. Team India’s performance will be closely monitored as they already lost a T20 series against West Indies. Hopes will be high from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, and Shivam Dube. Prasidh Krishna is also making his comeback to the squad and hence team India’s bowling is expected to be at its best.
Team management has rested some senior players and hence the responsibility will be on the young faces to win matches.
Predicted Lineup: Jasprit Bumrah (Captain), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson, Ravi Bishnoi, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan
Ireland's bowling attack has often been its weak link in T20 cricket. They have some good bowlers, but they lack a genuine wicket-taker. India, on the other hand, has good depth in bowling and they have a stable batting lineup. We predict a win for team India on Friday.
