India’s tour to Ireland has reached its business end and team India will be going back home with a series win. With two consecutive wins, they have already declared their supremacy over the hosts and now it is time to start the third fixture which will take place on Wednesday.
Ireland has completely failed to impress in the ongoing T20 series. There are a lot of unanswered questions for the selection committee of the team.
After a disappointing end to the West Indies tour, team India has bounced back against Ireland and it will be a much-needed boost in the confidence of the team.
Ireland has struggled throughout the series and after a loss in the second T20, they have already lost the chance to win the series against team India.
In the 2nd T20, the decision to bowl first worked against the hosts. Joshua Little failed to pick any wicket and displayed an economy of 12. Barry McCarthy picked up two wickets in 4 overs at an economy of 9.
Andrew Balbirnie gave a good start to the team and scored 72 off 51 balls at a strike rate of 141.18. However, he failed to get any support from the batters at the other end.
The primary concern for Ireland will be their weak middle order which failed to score in the previous fixture.
Predicted Lineup: Paul Stirling(c), Andrew Balbirnie, Lorcan Tucker(w), Harry Tector, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Mark Adair, Barry McCarthy, Craig Young, Joshua Little, Benjamin White
Batting first, Ruturaj Gaikwad gave a good start to the team as he scored 58 off 43 balls at a strike rate of 134.88. Sanju Samson (40 off 26) and Rinku Singh (38 off 21) also played a crucial part in building a strong partnership in the middle order.
Shivam Dube scored 22 off 16 balls at a strike rate of 137.50. When it came to bowling, Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi picked up two wickets each and dominated the Ireland batters.
As Team India has already won the series, Skipper Bumrah might bring in some new faces for the final T20.
Predicted Lineup: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jitesh Sharma(w), Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Prasidh Krishna, Mukesh Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah(c), Ravi Bishnoi
The series has already gone to team India and now the men in blue will be eyeing to completely wipe out the hosts. Ireland has not played their strongest game in the series and their star performers have failed to impress. We predict another win for team India in the 3rd T20.
