The Sunrisers finally managed to get their first win of IPL 2021 and will be playing against the Delhi Capitals in this next match. The teams in the top-4 are pulling away from the teams in the bottom half and this tournament needs an upset or two to make things interesting again. Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Capitals IPL 2021 is the last match that is going to be played in Chennai and the Sunrisers are going to be very happy about that! There have been some changes to both teams in the previous match and since both of them won that game, the playing elevens are likely to remain the same for this match. Chennai is going to be a venue where spin is going to dominate once more.
Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Capitals IPL 2021
Teams’ strengths & weaknesses
The top order for Sunrisers is very strong and that is its biggest strength. Three overseas players to start out provide the bulk of the runs for Hyderabad. The next part of the batting lineup is its biggest weakness. The lack of runs from the middle and lower order makes the Hyderbad team prone to collapses and prevents the top order from playing freely.
Delhi has won three matches in IPL 2021 already and that is largely because of the runs that its top order has scored. That is going to be its biggest strength and unlike Hyderabad, it also some good players in the middle-order as well. The weakness is going to be the form of its overseas bowlers. None of them have been able to make an impact in the tournament so far and Delhi has been a bit unbalanced.
Players in form
Jonny Bairstow is in terrific form for Hyderabad and was the top scorer in the previous match as well. He plays aggressively against the fast bowlers and is able to attack the spinners as well. Rashid Khan may not have too many wickets but he has been very good for Hyderabad as well. HIs overs never go for too many runs and he can bowl at any time of the inning.
Shikhar Dhawan is the one name that comes to mind when you speak about the Delhi Capitals. He has scored runs in three out of the four matches he has played and is in supreme form. He is the current leader on the run-scoring chart for the entire tournament. Avesh Khan is a surprise name that has done well for Delhi so far and is able to pick up wickets regularly as well.
The conditions in Chennai are going to spin-friendly. The matches have been low-scoring in Chennai and we think another such contest is likely to happen. If anything, even more spin is likely as the pitch is going to be more worn out.
- There have been 18 matches played between Delhi and Hyderabad. 11 of those have been won by Hyderabad and just 7 by Delhi
- Hyderabad has also won two out of the last three matches played between these two teams
- The highest score between these two teams has been scored by Rishab Pant (128 not out). Interestingly, this score came in a losing cause.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has hit form at an important juncture in this tournament. The balance of the side also looks better now that Kane Williamson is a part of the lineup. This could be the perfect opportunity for it to play against a side like Delhi that is still struggling to get the right balance of the team. With a strong batting order and an excellent spin attack led by Rashid Khan, Hyderabad should be able to win Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Capitals IPL 2021.
Winner: Sunriders Hyderabad (2.10)
