1) Ajaz Patel – New Zealand

Ajaz Patel made headlines in 2021 at the historical Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai as he achieved the rarest feet in Test cricket. Patel picked up 10 wickets in one inning and registered his name as the third bowler to do so.

However, New Zealand ended up losing the game, but the efforts of Ajaz were appreciated by players across the globe and since then, Ajaz Patel has been a regular member of the New Zealand Test squad and he is known for his accuracy and ability to extract turns from the pitch.

2) Scott Boland – England

Every bowler dreams of a memorable debut but very few can turn it into a reality. Scott Boland realised his dream at Melbourne in 2021 while playing against England. Boland picked up 6 wickets by giving away 7 runs in the second innings.

In just 4 overs, Boland dominated the whole game and didn't allow the English batters to dominate the game. He went on to take 14 wickets in the Ashes series, at an average of 9.57. Scott Boland became the first Australian bowler to take 14 wickets in his first two Tests.

3) Ebadot Hossain – Bangladesh

4) Matt Henry – New Zealand

Matt Henry’s comeback to the Kiwi squad can be considered the greatest comeback in the 2021-23 WTC cycle. His brilliance was visible against South Africa while the Proteas were on tour to New Zealand.

Henry announced his comeback by picking up 7 wickets for just 23 runs. He performed exceptionally well and fulfilled the void of Trent Boult in the team. Henry is a very effective bowler in the Test format and has taken 113 wickets in 46 Tests at an average of 26.52.
