First leg of round 16 is underway and the teams are now shaping up their future in the UEFA Champions League. RB Leipzig will be hosting Premier League giants Manchester City for the first leg at Red Bull Arena Leipzig on 23rd February. The Citizens have regained their old form back and will be motivated to stay positive for the rest of the Champions League.
RB Leipzig are currently struggling in the Bundesliga as they are at the 5th spot in the point table with 36 points and only 10 wins.
Manchester City on the other hand dropped points in the weekend after playing out a draw against Nottingham Forest. Pep will be hoping that his men get back to winning ways midweek. With the quality of players City have, online bookies have kept odds in their favour to win the match.
Haaland will surely be gunning to go as he had a pretty bad time on his last outing for the Citizens. We expect a 2-0 win for Man City with Halland scoring both goals.
The betting tip is...
Man City will Win.
The recent defeat against Union Berlin by 1-2 has been a major disappointment for the club as they have been dropped to the fifth position in the Bundesliga Point Table. The defeat also ended their 18-match unbeaten streak in the Bundesliga. Before the defeat from Berlin, Leipzig witnessed their last loss against Borussia Monchengladbach in mid-September.
Abdou Diallo, Peter Gulasci and Dani Olmo, have still not recovered from the injury and will be replaced by some new faces.
Predicted Lineup: Blaswich, Henrichs, Orban, Gvardiol, Raum, Laimer, Schlager, Szoboszlai, Forsberg, Silva, Werner
Manchester City have been pretty inconsistent this season. Last week they were joint top in the Premier League but a draw against minnows Nottingham gave advantage back to Arsenal in the title race. It's the 10th time this season in all competitions they have dropped points on their travels and they will have to be at the top of the game if they want to beat Leipzig away from home.
John Stones has still not recovered and will be absent from the Champions League fixture.
Predicted Lineup: Ederson, Lewis, Dias, Laporte, Rodri, Bernardo, Mahrez, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Grealish, Haaland
Although they are not at their best this season playing away from home, we expect City to dominate the German side.
